Veterns Day
| Today I would just like to say "Thank You" to every man and women who have gave up so much just so I could have my freedom. You are my Hero's! Sometimes I don't think people realize just how much the brave men and women of the armed forces give up for us. Even I, Myself was guilty of this until my Three nephews joined the army and all Three have served in Afghanistan and Iraq. My grandfather served and was permanently injured in WWII and I have heard lots of stories of his time served while growing up but still I truly didn't understand until my nephews. I have seen the heartaches these young boys have gone through and the things they have missed out on in life just to fight for ALL of us. One of the most saddest of times is when these boys where in basic training they not only had the pressure that comes along with the
training but they were having to deal with doing their best and their father was dying of cancer. The day they were to come home their dad passed away that morning and those guys didn't even get to be with their father in his last moments and tell him their good-byes. I have also seen them miss out on their 1st wedding Anniversaries, Their First born and many other important memorable events in their young lives. I've seen them leave behind their families and their young children but they do this and do it with honor and pride. I'm so proud of all Three of them and to all the men and women who have given up so much for their country. May God Bless each and every one of them! Make sure you take a minute out of your day to tell a Veteran Thank You and you appreciate what they have given up for you. It may not seem like a big deal to you but believe me it will be a big reward to them. To my nephews, Elmer Strickland in Fort Drum, NY-currently deployed in Iraq, James and Jonathan Strickland in Fort Stewart Georgia I know you have all endured so much in your young lives and have had to see things I hope and Pray I will never have to see. I have watched you guys miss out on so much and the sadness you have had to go through when you had to leave your family and your babies. I just want to say I LOVE YOU and I THANK YOU! |
